Thank you to everyone in Newcastle-under-Lyme who took the time to respond to my recent survey on higher education funding.
I heard from students, members of staff, graduates, and family members who are worried about the future of our colleges and universities. Your responses described course closures, job losses, increased pressure on staff, and students struggling to access the support they need.
Your submissions were formally sent to the Education Select Committee ahead of their evidence session yesterday, Tuesday 8 April, and have been included as part of the official evidence.
This is a vital issue for many people in our community, and I’m doing all I can to make sure your voices are heard in Westminster. I will continue to press the Government for proper investment in higher education and to stand up for students and staff here in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
