Residents’ Voices Heard: No New Utility Poles to be Installed in Madeley

ree

Over the last few weeks, many residents in Madeley have been in touch with me about Lightspeed Broadband’s plans to put up telegraph poles in the area.

Residents told me they were frustrated not just by the impact the poles would have on their streets, but by the way the proposals were being handled — being done to the community rather than with it. That was not acceptable.

I took those concerns directly to the company’s leadership and pressed them to listen to the people of Madeley. I am very pleased to be able to confirm that, following a review, Lightspeed has now told me that no new poles will be installed in Madeley.

This is a real win for local people who spoke up and made their voices heard. It shows what we can achieve when residents and their Member of Parliament work together to stand up for our communities.

I want to thank everyone who contacted me about this issue.

I will always stand up for Madeley – and for every part of our constituency – whenever issues like this arise.
