Christmas Card Competition Winners Announced

I am delighted to announce the winners of my Christmas Card Design Competition.

Pupils from across Newcastle-under-Lyme sent in their submissions, and with so many thoughtful and creative designs, it was incredibly difficult to narrow the entries down to just three. Seeing the imagination and talent of pupils from across our community has been a real highlight, and I’m grateful to every school that encouraged their pupils to take part.

The top three designs were:

1st Place – Emily, Ravensmead Primary School

2nd Place – Leon, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School

3rd Place – Rhys, Ellison Primary Academy

It was a pleasure to visit Ravensmead Primary School this morning to present Emily with her certificate and congratulate her in person.

Emily’s colourful snowmen scene captured the festive spirit brilliantly and is now the front cover of my official Christmas card.

These cards will be sent to people and organisations across Newcastle-under-Lyme and beyond – including charities, community groups, headteachers, councillors, ambassadors, High Commissioners, MPs and Government Ministers. Emily should be incredibly proud of her achievement, and I want to thank her for creating such a vibrant and joyful design.

Leon’s entry – a thoughtful and detailed nativity scene – captured the themes of comfort, hope and renewal that many people associate with this time of year. It was a strong and well-crafted interpretation of a classic Christmas image.

Rhys produced a creative design featuring the Guildhall, bringing a well-loved local landmark to life in a festive setting. His artwork showed a clear sense of pride in our home town.

A huge thank you to all those who entered – the imagination and creativity on display was remarkable, and narrowing the submissions down was not an easy task.

Congratulations once again to Emily, Leon and Rhys!
