Bringing Intertrade UK & Local Businesses Together to Discuss Trade Opportunities

I was delighted to welcome Baroness Arlene Foster and the Board of Intertrade UK to Keele Business School on Friday for their first business engagement event in Great Britain.
I invited Intertrade UK to come to Newcastle-under-Lyme and North Staffordshire to see for themselves the incredible potential we have here, and to hear directly from local businesses about the opportunities and challenges they face when trading across the United Kingdom.
The roundtable brought together Intertrade UK's Board, business leaders from across Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire, and Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce. We discussed the practical challenges and opportunities of trading between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, including how businesses can access markets, grow trade and attract investment.
We have brilliant, innovative businesses across our area, with real opportunities for trade, investment and economic growth. It is important that we understand what more needs to be done to help them grow and thrive, and make sure they have every opportunity to access markets across the United Kingdom.
